I have relocated from Maryland to South Carolina, and I have decided that I am not going to continue to teach classes.
If you took one of my Maryland HQL training classes in 2020 or 2021 and have not submitted your application, you have up to 3 years from the date of the class to submit your application and class certificate.
If you submit your application after February 27, 2023, I will no longer be able to sign off on it as I will no longer be listed as an instructor in their system. However, you will be able to contact the Maryland State Police @ firstname.lastname@example.org and provide them with a copy of the electronic certificate you received from me via email when you completed the class.
Please copy me (email@example.com) on the email as well. They will be able to manually verify that I was a certified instructor during the period stated on your class certificate.
You will just need to tell them that you took my HQL course within the past three years and that I am no longer an active firearms instructor. Make sure to attach a copy of your class certificate, copy me on the email and wait for them to respond. I have verified with the State Police that this process will work, but it will slow the process down.
